Jeffrey Epstein's "black book," with 221 more high-profile names up for auction

A “black book” related to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, supposedly including the names and addresses of 221 persons associated with him, is slated to be auctioned off.

What is Jeffrey Epstein’s black book?

Alexander Historical Auctions will sell Epstein’s contentious book, believed to be from 1997, on May 15. According to the Daily Beast, a forensic examiner’s report will be used to validate its legitimacy.

Bidders have been promised anonymity as they compete for the piece, which is expected to cost more than $200,000, according to Bill Panagopulos, owner of the auction house.

“There are no comparables for the sale of this kind of relic. But, based on my experience, if I’m pressed to offer a price I would think it would be $100,000 to $200,000, and up,” he told the Daily Beast.

According to the report, prominent figures in the Epstein Islands affair include former US President Donald Trump, millionaire and New York businessman John Catsimatidis, and Suzanne Ircha, co-owner of the New York Jets.

Other rumored figures include billionaire activist investor Carl Icahn, Cristina Greeven (wife of former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo), former Playboy CEO Christie Hefner, and Marty Peretz, an ex-publisher of The New Republic and longtime political adviser to Al Gore.

According to a Business Insider piece from 2021, the older black book contains 221 new names not listed in the first book.

The book was discovered by a female musician in the 1990s

The origins of Epstein’s black book are unknown to this day. It was discovered by a female musician in the 1990s.

Jeffrey Epstein, a billionaire with a powerful network in the United States and internationally, has been accused of raping underage girls. However, his suicide in a New York prison in 2019 ended his prosecution.

Earlier in January, a New York judge revealed the identities of those tied to Epstein in court records.

Former US Presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, who have not been charged with any wrongdoing in the case, were prominently featured in the records, which contain about 1,000 pages of depositions and statements.

The list of over 150 people includes several Epstein associates previously identified as John or Jane Does in a lawsuit filed against Epstein’s former mistress, Ghislaine Maxwell.

The disclosure is part of a defamation case between Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in jail in 2022, and Virginia Giuffre, a complainant against the duo.
