Four days after Hamas seized Israeli streets, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked with his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, and declared that India “condemns terrorism in all its forms.”

Several Western and Middle Eastern countries have expressed worry about the fighting. While some countries have expressed their support for Israel, many others have backed the Palestinian armed group. According to Israel’s foreign ministry, 84 countries have issued declarations in support of Israel. According to News18, numerous countries, particularly those in the Middle East, have praised Hamas’ surprise attack, which resulted in multiple Israeli casualties.

Nations that support Israel

Most Western countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Norway, and Australia, back Israel. Some of these countries also support Israel’s right to self-defense in response to the Hamas attack. US President Joe Biden described America’s support for Israel as “rock solid and unwavering.” He has also ordered US ships and airplanes to move closer to Israel and has given more military aid as a show of support.

“Rishi Sunak reaffirmed that the UK will stand with Israel unequivocally against these acts of terror. The prime minister offered Prime Minister Netanyahu any support Israel needs,” the Downing Street office said in a statement. French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the attack carried out on Israel.

Australia has recommended “restraint” in the Gaza conflict to protect civilian life. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia criticized Hamas for the violence and condemned the “indiscriminate” killing of civilians. Meanwhile, Norway’s Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt has stated unequivocally that the government condemns the attacks on Israeli civilians. The European Union has also stated its support for Israel.

According to News18, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that Israel has the right to defend itself against “barbaric attacks,” as well as “protect its citizens and pursue the attacker.”

Countries that back Hamas

The majority of Middle Eastern countries have come out in support of Hamas. According to the AP, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi met with Hamas. (Alprazolam) For many years, Iran has been a staunch sponsor of Hamas. “This victorious operation, which will facilitate and accelerate the collapse of the Zionist regime, promises the impending destruction of the Zionist regime,” Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior adviser to Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told Hindustan Times.

Qatar, on the other hand, issued a statement claiming that Israel will be held accountable for the growing escalation. Qatar is reported to be a major contributor among those who have provided financial assistance to Hamas. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has urged for a two-state solution and an urgent cessation of hostilities. Yemen’s Houthi rebels, who control the capital, Sana expressed their support for “the heroic jihadist operation” of Hamas.
