“He was doing his exercise routine and while he was on the treadmill, he suddenly fell down. He suffered a heart attack and was immediately taken to the AIIMS hospital,” said Ashok Srivastava, the comedian’s cousin.
Srivastava’s daughter left shocked, Raju never showed signs of any ailment
The 58-year-old comedian’s daughter, Antara Srivastava was left shocked as her father had never shown any signs of heart ailments. She said, “His condition has neither improved nor worsened. The entire medical team is doing its best. we are praying and hoping he will be fine soon. My mother is with him inside the ICUs.”
“My father has been traveling regularly to Delhi and other places across the country for work. He makes it a point to exercise in the gym every day and never misses his workout. He was perfectly fine and has had no heart ailments, so this is very shocking,” she added.
CM Yogi Adityanath promises assistance in the matter
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spoke with Shikha Srivastava on Thursday. The chief minister promised his family all assistance and directed staff to stay in touch with them.
The 58-year-old comedian is being treated by Dr. Nitish Naik, a professor at the department of cardiology at the AIIMS.
The stand-up artist’s business manager said there has not been any improvement in his condition.
“He is not in a conscious state. There is not much improvement in his health. His brain is not working. Doctors are saying wait and watch. Pray for his speedy recovery,” Srivastav’s business manager said.
In addition to being the chairman of the UP Film Development Council in Uttar Pradesh, Raju Srivastava has been involved in the entertainment industry since the late 1980s. In 2005, he took part in the inaugural season of the stand-up comedy program The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, after which he gained recognition.
