Nancy Crampton Brophy, the author of ‘How to Murder Your Husband’ was found guilty of murdering her husband. She was given life imprisonment on Monday.

The trial lasted one month. During the hearing, it was revealed that the author killed her husband Daniel Brophy to gather significant amounts of money in life insurance She used a gun to kill her husband. Brophy found the weapon on eBay. She was found guilty after a seven-week trial.

Possibility of Parole only after serving 25 years in jail

“Nancy Crampton Brophy, 71, was convicted of second-degree murder on 25 May after a seven-week trial. Her sentence includes the possibility of parole after 25 years in custody,” KGW-TV reported on Monday.

The prosecution claimed that the duo was in financial difficulty at the time of the crime. And she had studied and acquired a “ghost gun” kit online before subsequently purchasing a Glock 17 handgun at a gun show. The case gained nationwide interest because of an essay written by Crampton Brophy a few years ago. Interestingly, the piece was not an evidence at trial.

In June 2018, her husband, Chef Daniel Brophy, was discovered dead on the ground of a classroom at the now culinary institute where he worked. He’d been hit twice by bullets. At the time of the killing, his wife was observed driving in the vicinity on CCTV. Nancy Crampton Brophy, moreover, stated she had no recollection of witnessing the crime. The ‘How to Murder Your Husband’ author has written a series of novels titled “Wrong Never Felt So Right”. Some of the novels in this series include “The Wrong Husband” and “The Wrong Lover.”
