Nancy Crampton Brophy: More on the case

According to Multnomah County Senior Deputy District Attorney Shawn Overstreet, Nancy Crampton Brophy was motivated by greed and a $1.4 million insurance policy.

Nancy bought the same make and model of gun that was in use in her husband’s murder, according to prosecutors. They believe she swapped out the barrel to make the weapon harder to trace.

Nancy’s gun purchase, according to the defense, was for research purposes in her profession as a novelist. The jurors, however, did not appear to believe that claim.

Nancy Crampton Brophy had authored another novel, “The Wrong Husband,” in addition to the essay “How to Murder Your Husband.”

The sentencing for the guilty novelist is still pending.
