FBI raid finds no classified documents at Biden's Delaware vacation home

The FBI investigated President Biden’s house in Rehoboth, Del., on Wednesday as part of its investigation into sensitive information discovered among his files, according to a statement from Biden’s counsel.

Bob Bauer described it as a “planned search” with Biden’s “full support and cooperation.” He said, “the FBI did take with them handwritten notes”.

During the search, no documents with classified markings were discovered, according to Bauer, however, the DOJ took “some materials and handwritten notes that appear to relate to his time as vice president” for additional study. The search lasted from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

The Rehoboth Beach search is the latest in a string of events involving secret documents discovered in the president’s baggage over the last three months. Former Maryland Attorney General Robert Hur was appointed as special counsel to conduct the investigation into how they got there.

Hur’s job has begun, and his DOJ website is currently operational. The Justice Department has made no more statements about Hur’s conduct or the FBI’s search of Biden’s home in Rehoboth.

Biden’s lawyers inspected his Rehoboth Beach vacation house last month as part of an investigation and found no classified materials.

The search comes just a few weeks after federal officials spent more than 12 hours searching Biden’s house in Wilmington, Del., and discovered classified materials. His lawyers announced last month that they had discovered “a small quantity” of more Obama-Biden Administration records with classified markings among personal and political papers. According to White House lawyer Richard Sauber, the Justice Department has been contacted, and Biden and his legal staff are working with the National Archives and the Department of Justice.

Some confidential materials were discovered in November at the Penn Biden Center, a Washington, D.C. think tank office that Biden used for roughly three years.
