Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Gwynne, is auctioning off photographs and personal items from their one-year relationship to raise money for her stepson’s college tuition.
Gwynne reportedly dated Musk in 1994, when they were in their 20s and were studying at the University of Pennsylvania. The items to be auctioned included their pictures, Musk’s handwritten note, and a necklace.
Gwynne has put on sale never-seen-before photographs of Musk
Nearly three decades after their relationship ended, Gwynne has put on sale never-seen-before photographs of the billionaire. Along with the previously-unseen photographs, Jennifer Gwynne is also auctioning off personal items like a birthday card signed by Musk and a necklace he presented to her.
She now resides in South Carolina with her husband and stepson. She is currently selling some keepsakes from their relationship in the hopes that the revenue will go toward paying her stepson’s college expenses. The move comes after witnessing Musk’s dominant headlines and other profits from his celebrity status.
She said in her one-year relationship with Musk: “We met in the fall of 1994. I was a junior and he was a senior… we were in the same dorm and we worked together.”
Even back then, he was interested in electric cars: Gwynne
“Musk was very intense, very focused on his studies. Back then he was always talking about electric cars… he was definitely going somewhere,” revealed Gwynne. As for their relationship, Gwynne says it was sweet but lacking in PDA. “When he is courting you, you know he is interested, but he wasn’t extremely affectionate,” she said.
They split up in 1995 when he moved to Palo Alto, about the time he started dating his first wife, Justine, whom he had also been seeing behind her back, according to Gwynne.
