In a recent report by the Wall Street Journal, Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, is accused of exposing himself to a flight attendant in 2016 and offering to buy her a horse in exchange for sex. The woman, who provided a massage to Musk during a SpaceX flight, claimed that after she refused his advances, her shifts were reduced. Musk has denied these allegations, calling them “utterly untrue” and joked on social media, suggesting the scandal be named “Elongate.” Despite his denial, reports suggest that Musk did employ flight attendants, including in 2016.
Company response
Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX’s president and COO, defended Musk in a company-wide email, stating she believed the allegations to be false based on her 20-year working relationship with him.
Other allegations have surfaced, including claims that Musk had inappropriate relationships with two employees, including an intern. Another woman, who worked closely with Musk, alleged that he repeatedly asked her to bear his children.
Musk, a father of at least 10 children, has frequently spoken about his belief that the world faces an underpopulation crisis and that people with high IQs should procreate. In 2021, the same year he had children with an employee, he stated, “If people don’t have more children, civilization is going to crumble.”
Relationships with Employees
Shivon Zilis, an executive at Musk’s Neuralink, shares twins with him. Zilis, quoted in Walter Isaacson’s biography “Elon Musk,” said Musk encouraged her to have children and later offered to be the sperm donor, expressing a preference for his genes for her offspring.
These revelations come as former SpaceX employees filed a lawsuit against Musk, bringing to light various alleged incidents of sexual misconduct. The claims paint a troubling picture of the tech billionaire’s interactions with female employees and associates.
