In an effort to combat fraudulent medical claims, Walt Disney World has decided to update its Disability Access Service (DAS). The move, unveiled on Tuesday, calls for a lifetime ban on individuals who use fraudulent medical records to bypass the long queues.
One of the questions on Disney’s official website confirms the news that the company will permanently ban its fraudulent guests.
Following the introduction of the new orders on May 20 at Walt Disney World’s Florida venue, the changes in California will take effect on June 18, according to a KTLA report.
The answer to the ‘frequently asked question,’ “What happens if any of the statements made by a guest in the process of registering for DAS are found to be not true?” reads, “If it is determined that any of the statements a guest made in the process of obtaining DAS are not true, the guest will be permanently barred from entering the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort.”
The new measures are seen as a crackdown by Disney resorts in California and Florida, which will impose lifetime bans on parkgoers who lie about their disabilities. According to officials, such guests will never be able to use previously purchased Magic Key passes, annual passes, tickets, or other park merchandise again. In addition, they will lose their services and will not be refunded.
The new element in Disney’s DAS program is intended “to assist guests who have difficulty tolerating extended waits in a conventional queue environment due to a disability.”
Those with disabilities, such as Autism, do not receive perks such as privileges or preferences over the rest of the queue. A dedicated area will be reserved for such people, along with a predetermined time for a smooth experience.
