Cleanfluencers are the current online trend sweeping TikTok

cleanfluencers

The ‘cleanfluencer’ is a new type of internet influencer. A cleanfluencer, as the name implies, publishes content on cleaning, organizing, and decluttering. According to Agence France-Presse, the videos made by cleanfluencers are being watched by millions of people, particularly on the popular short-form video-sharing site TikTok. With 9 million followers, Finland native Auri Kananen is one of the world’s most successful cleanfluencers. She told AFP, “I love cleaning, I love dirt.” She added that she remembers when she had just 19 followers. “Even then it felt really cool to have 19 strangers wanting to see me clean,” she added.

Auri claims she visits the dirtiest homes on the planet. She dusts, wipes, and organizes while listening to upbeat music while wearing her pink rubber gloves.

Cleanfluencers are on the rise

As previously said, a cleanfluencer is a social media influencer who cleans and posts videos on social media sites. Cleanfluencers attract a wide audience by providing quick and easy methods for keeping houses clean and organized. They frequently specialize in niche areas, such as cleaning refrigerators or removing tough stains, and provide important and practical advice. They have grown in popularity in recent years as individuals have become more concerned about keeping their homes clean and organized.

Some cleanfluencers have even made their passion a full-time job, collaborating with brands and developing their own product lines. The cleanfluencing trend has developed its own subculture, with social media networks dedicated to sharing cleaning content and communities of like-minded individuals who enjoy keeping things clean and neat.

The first cleanfluencer, Marie Kondo?

Marie Kondo, a Japanese organizing expert, author, and television personality, may have started the ‘cleanfluencer’ craze. She is most known for her KonMari method of organizing and decluttering, which entails collecting all of one’s belongings, categorizing them, and retaining only items that “spark joy.” She has authored several books on the subject, including The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, which has been translated into several languages and has sold millions of copies worldwide. Also, she featured in the Netflix series Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, in which she uses her method to help individuals simplify their homes and lives. Kondo is no longer the clean freak she once was after the birth of her third kid.
