Bikini killer Charles Sobhraj deported back to France

France deported back Charles Sobhraj, the notorious “bikini killer” on Friday following his release from jail in Nepal.

Bikini killer flies back to France

Charles Sobhraj, a notorious serial killer was deported back to France after his release from Kathmandu’s Central Jail. Sobhraj, the son of an Indian and Vietnamese was also known as the bikini killer or the serpent. He served the maximum sentence for committing several murders across Asia. The French embassy and Nepal’s immigration department worked together for preparing Sobhrah’s travel documents. Sudesh Subedi, one of the serial killer’s lawyers stated that his daughter and mother were waiting for his return in Paris.

“The home ministry has deported Charles Sobhraj, barring him from entering Nepal for the next ten years,” stated Fanindra Mani Pokharel. Pokharel is the joint secretary and spokesperson for the Nepalese Ministry of Home Affairs. Sobieraj boarded the Qatar Airways flight QR647. He is flying to Doha before flying to Paris.

Gopal Shivakoti Chintan, Sobhraj’s lawyer revealed to the media that his client was taken to the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu by the authorities. He was deported to France via Doha. As per media reports, the bikini killer was willing to stay in Nepal. Additionally, he requested treatment at the Gangalal Hospital for ten days. His release appeal also included a request based on his health condition. The Nepalese Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the prison authorities to free Charles Sobhraj. before departing, there was a 15 days period for immigration. This was to ensure that he was not wanted in any other murder cases.
