Biden's health in question: White House logs show Parkinson’s expert visits

Health Speculations Intensify

Representative Angie Craig of Minnesota has joined a chorus of House Democrats urging President Biden to abandon his re-election campaign. Concerns about Biden’s health have escalated following a New York Post report suggesting that Biden’s doctor consulted with Dr. Kevin Cannard, a Parkinson’s disease expert, multiple times since August 2023.

Rumors of Parkinson’s disease

The New York Post report highlights that Biden’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, met with Cannard at the White House on January 17. Despite these consultations, Biden has consistently refused to take a cognitive test, insisting in a recent ABC News interview, “No one said I had to … they said I’m good.” He dismissed calls for an independent neurological exam, asserting, “I get a cognitive test every day.”

Craig, alongside Reps. Lloyd Doggett, Raul Grijalva, Seth Moulton, and Mike Quigley, has publicly urged Biden to step down. Craig emphasized the need to prevent a second Trump presidency, stating, “This is not a decision I’ve come to lightly, but there is simply too much at stake.”

The stakes and next steps

Highlighting her respect for Biden, Craig pointed to his lackluster debate performance and subsequent lack of response as reasons he might struggle against Trump. “Now is the time to be candid with ourselves,” Craig urged, calling for new leadership to step forward.

The growing pressure from within his party underscores the high stakes as Democrats seek a strong candidate to face the challenges of the 2024 election.
