Assassination attempt targeting Tucker Carlson in Russia thwarted: New ‘confession video’ emerges

A video of a man claiming to have been recruited to plant an explosive device on American journalist Tucker Carlson’s vehicle during his recent visit to Russia has surfaced online.

In the video, the man identifies himself as Vasiliev Pyotr Alexeievich of Podolsk, Russia. The 35-year-old claims that the “Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine recruited him in November 2023.”

He stated that in January of this year, he was “tasked with picking up an explosive device from a hiding spot and using it to target a car in the underground parking of Moscow’s Four Seasons Hotel.”

The man was initially unaware of the target, but now he recognizes it as Tucker Carlson

“I was trained in working with special communications, collecting and detonating explosive devices, and working with caches,” he alleges in the video.

The man goes on to say that he was initially unaware of the target, but now he recognizes it as “Tucker Carlson, the American journalist.”

However, he claims he was detained during the preparation stage. He also claims to have been promised $4,000 for completing the task.

The video, originally shared by The Indel Drop, has gone viral on social media.

Tucker Carlson’s visit to Moscow last month for an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin drew criticism. Critics claimed Carlson let Putin lecture him on the history of Russia and Ukraine without challenging him. Putin was also disappointed with Carlson’s interview style, expecting more aggressive questions.

“To be honest, I thought that he would behave aggressively and ask so-called sharp questions,” the 71-year-old said in an interview in his homeland.

“I was not just prepared for this, I wanted it, because it would give me the opportunity to respond in the same way. Frankly, I did not get full satisfaction from this interview.”
