On Friday, December 22, SBS News reported that popular TikToker Won Jeong, aka Mama Boy Ox Zung, was recently arrested on s*xual assault charges. Following investigations, sufficient evidence allowed the case to proceed to court trials. According to SBS, they received a direct anonymous report about the male celebrity and his friend, who went out for drinks with their female friend.

It was also alleged that the two forced the female to drink to the point of unconsciousness, then took her to another friend’s house and sexually assaulted her until she regained consciousness.

Won Jeong and his accomplice were arrested on December 12 in response to the victim’s police complaint, and the investigation began.

The prosecution of the case began on December 15, and the first court trial is scheduled for January 17, 2024. If the male actor is found guilty of the allegations, he could face seven years in prison.

The fire department was called in to assist in the arrest of Korean TikToker Won Jeong

According to SBS, the anonymous reporter (who is thought to be the victim of the current case) allegedly confessed to an incident that occurred in July of this year.

She claimed that she, Won Jeong, and another male friend went out to drink. Her accompanying male friends, however, insisted on her drinking more, and she eventually passed out.

Meanwhile, she was taken to the friend’s house of the male star, where she was allegedly s*xually assaulted by both of her male companions.

The male celebrity was arrested for further investigation after she confessed to police.

However, according to SBS, Won Jeong and others refused to open the doors when police arrived for an investigation, necessitating the assistance of firemen to arrest them. According to SBS: “It has been confirmed that ‘Influencer A’ refused to open the door when the police showed up to investigate the scene. The fire department had to get involved to force the door open.”

Following the preliminary investigations, Won Jeong’s case was sent to prosecution, where he faces seven years in prison if convicted of the charges.

While he told police that his interaction with the victim was consensual, the first scheduled court trial, on January 17, is expected to draw more conclusions on the same.

However, due to a lack of evidence, the charges against the male star for illegally filming the victim have been dropped.

While SBS refused to reveal TikToker’s identity, referring to him as ‘Influencer A’ throughout their news reports, netizens recognized Won Jeong right away.

The TikToker rose to fame after launching his account in 2020 and was well-known for shouting ‘Mama’ in a particular tone.

He not only has 55.6 million TikTok followers, making him the most-followed non-celebrity in Korea but he was also named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Asia 2023 list for his undeniable influence over the masses.

Many people were perplexed by his sudden disappearance from social media in July, but their confusion was cleared by the recent news. Soon after SBS’s report, the male star has been rapidly losing followers and fame.
