Arizona: Trump fans at rally suffer mysterious illness that made their eyes 'burn like hell'

Several supporters of former U.S. President Donald Trump have reported suffering from unexplained eye injuries after attending a rally in Tucson, Arizona, last week. Nearly half a dozen individuals seated directly behind Trump on stage claimed they were afflicted with a mysterious ailment that caused severe eye irritation and forced some to seek medical attention.

Supporters experience ‘burning eyes’

One attendee, pro-life advocate Mayra Rodriguez, described a sudden onset of eye pain as she left the rally. “My eyes were burning, and I had to go straight to the emergency room,” Rodriguez told Daily Mail Online. She mentioned that medical staff initially suspected she had been sprayed with something due to her symptoms. “I can’t see anything when I try to open my eyes. I see a bright light. It hurts, it hurts a lot.”

Rodriguez’s condition gradually improved, with her vision returning by Tuesday, but she was not alone in suffering these symptoms. Others also complained of worsening eye irritation and facial discomfort.

Other attendees share similar complaints

Another rally attendee reported worsening symptoms after leaving the event. “It kept getting worse and worse, my eyes were watering a lot, my nose started running, and my neck felt like it was on fire,” they told local news outlet KVOA.

Rodriguez’s brother also experienced severe irritation. “My eyes were red like hell. It was unbearable,” he said, echoing the concerns of other affected supporters.

Trump campaign investigating

In response to these reports, a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign stated they are looking into the issue. “The Trump campaign has been collecting information. We remain committed to the countless patriots that attend our high-energy, high-impact rallies across the country,” the spokesperson said.

As of now, the exact cause of these symptoms remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
