T-Rex is one of history’s most intriguing reptiles. Its enormous height, terrifying teeth, and razor-sharp claws distinguish it as a collector’s item. A T-Rex skeleton dubbed ‘Trinity’ is now up for auction. It was placed on display before the auction so that potential buyers could get a good look at the magnificent creature that once roamed the Earth’s surface. The ‘Trinity’ 67-million-year-old Tyrannosaurus-Rex skeleton stands 3.9 meters tall and is presently valued between $6.5 and $8.7 million.

Nils Knoetschke, project manager, puts the finishing details on Trinity before the auction. This will be the first time a T-Rex has been auctioned in Europe and only the third time in the world that an entire skeleton of the exceptional condition has been offered. Yolanda Schicker-Siber (L), the curator of the Aathal Dinosaur Museum, participates in the ‘Trinity’ exhibit. The T-Rex skeleton was transported in nine big containers from Arizona, USA, to Zurich, Switzerland.
Trinity was created using bone material from three T-Rex fossils discovered between 2008 and 2013 in the US states of Montana and Wyoming. The sale is all the more significant given that only 32 adult T-Rex skeletons have been discovered worldwide. Trinity, according to the auctioneers, was given by a private individual. “The Zurich auction is thus an exceptional opportunity to acquire such a high-quality fossil,” the auction house said. Trinity is anticipated to outbid all previous bidders. Notably, a T-Rex skull known as ‘Stan’ was sold for a whopping $31.8 million in New York in 2020. It then shattered the previous record established by Sue, a specimen sold by Sotheby’s in October 1997 for . (Alpraolam) 4 million to the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago.
