Hollywood A-Lister, Tom Cruise is believed to be leaving Scientology after serving as a poster boy for the controversial religion/cult for a long period of time. Reports of his distancing himself from the controversial church came after Tom was not seen visiting its UK headquarters, despite living in the country. This is the first time Tom’s relationship with Scientology religion has been called into doubt, despite the fact that his involvement with the organization has been the subject of numerous conspiracy theories.
Following a positive box office reception for his most recent Mission Impossible film during the Barbenheimer fever (Barbie and Oppenheimer have maintained dominance at the box office globally), Tom is apparently reconsidering his relationship with the Church.
According to several accounts, Tom Cruise’s absence from Scientology’s UK headquarters for nearly three years has caused people to believe that he is distancing himself from the organization. The Church of Scientology’s UK headquarters is located in East Grinstead.
Scientology had previously played a significant role in Tom Cruise’s personal life. It was claimed as the cause of his divorce from Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes. While his divorce from the former was mutually agreed upon, Katie is reported to have taken him by surprise when she filed divorce papers. She stated at the time that she did not want their daughter to be reared in Scientology.
This is not the first time that a prominent public figure has left Scientology. Previously, Demi Moore, Brad Pitt, Sharon Stone, Jada Pinkett Smith & Will Smith, and Jerry Seinfeld among others have left Scientology.
