Haley Odlozil, a TikTok parent, died at the age of 30 after battling ovarian cancer. Haley’s husband, Taylor, was sharing about his wife’s cancer fight when she was diagnosed with it in 2015. Taylor broke the news of Haley’s death on TikTok on July 14, 2023. Taylor noted that he considers himself fortunate that Haley was a part of his life for around 16 years, and that he felt privileged to care for her. He went on to say:
“One thing I can tell you, is she suffered greatly fighting this disease that slowly tore her body apart for the last eight years. The thought of her being completely healed in a body with no pain & no scars in heaven makes me so incredibly happy for her, but so overwhelmingly sad I’m not there to see it.” Several others expressed their sorrow on social media, with some expressing that they expected her to recover entirely from cancer.
Haley Odlozil rose to prominence after her husband posted a TikTok video
Haley Odlozil has been battling ovarian cancer since 2015, and physicians told her last year that she had run out of alternatives. In 2022, her husband Taylor Odlozil posted a TikTok video in which he discussed her battle with ovarian cancer. Haley and the couple’s kid Weston were featured in the clips. Taylor was heard expressing in it that he was losing his family and felt helpless. The video attracted approximately 19 million views, and Taylor expressed his surprise at the response.
Haley was seen vomiting in one of the clips, with Weston patting her back. Taylor stated that Haley had lost weight, adding: “Since October when we found out, she’s just slowly gone downhill and the last three weeks have been really bad. She’s barely eating (and) she throws up (about) 20 times a day now. It’s just terrible.” Taylor stated that their son is aware of Haley’s sickness but is unsure what will happen in the future. In an interview, Haley Odlozil also stated that having a child in the family is difficult and that she is now focusing more on making happy memories.
Twitter users pay tribute
Many people saw Taylor Odlozil’s TikTok video and wished for Haley’s rapid recovery. When they learned of her death, they turned to social media to express their condolences to her family. In December 2015, Haley Odlozil was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Taylor Odlozil told Today that they discovered the disease and the fact that they had only two months before their wedding when they discovered the disease and the fact that Haley can never have children.
They married after Haley had chemotherapy for nine weeks. However, as Taylor explained, the chemo was ineffective: “The doctor basically told us that the chemo did absolutely nothing and that the tumors didn’t shrink at all. They actually grew. That’s when I found out she had six months left (to live).”
After returning from their honeymoon, the couple met a New York-based surgeon who performed on Haley. The operation entirely eradicated the cancer, but it returned quickly, and Haley Odlozil fought it until her death. According to Taylor, after a bowel obstruction in October of last year, Haley’s doctors told her “she was past the point of surgery.” The pair then began documenting their final months together. Weston, the couple’s son, was delivered through surrogacy. He is four years old right now.
