More on the new move

The news comes after Jack Ma returned to China, ending his long overseas stay. The industry saw it as a reflection of a sober mode for Chinese businesses after the long regulatory crackdown. As per a Financial Times report, in November 2022, he was spotted in Japan, socializing with primate member clubs. Ma’s term begins on May 1 and marks his return to teaching following his retirement from Alibaba in September 2019. Several years before co-founding Alibaba, Jack Ma was an English teacher.
