Windows 11: Microsoft is now testing Android Apps

Microsoft announced the first preview of the Android app experience on Windows 11. The Windows Insider Program gives a sneak peek of what’s to come next.

Microsoft, in a blog post, explained that new android apps will be available in its store. This feature will showcase a variety of apps. The tech giant has partnered with Intel and Amazon for the new feat. They will be available for download through the Amazon Appstore. Testing of Android apps will soon start for Beta users of eligible AMD, Qualcomm, and Intel-based Windows devices.

Android apps on the Windows 11 will allow you to integrate into Task view. Just press Alt+Tab keys and make switching between apps easy. or, you can use the system clipboard for this. Additionally, get ready to use new features such as Snap layouts on Windows 11. According to Microsoft, the collaboration with Amazon has led to the curation of 50 apps, ready for testing. They will soon roll out for the Windows Insiders.

For starters, with the Android Apps on your Windows 11, you can play popular mobile games on your PC. The Apps also feature several learning contents. The feature revolutionizes teaching reading, writing, and math skills to children. The store also features Khan Academy Kids. In addition to these, you can now read your Kindle books on your Windows 11 devices.

The tech giant also unveiled the Windows Subsystem for Android. Powered by Amazon, “The Subsystem includes the Linux kernel and the Android OS based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) version 11. It is distributed through the Microsoft Store as part of the Amazon Appstore install, which will allow users to stay updated over time as we continue to add support for more APIs, capabilities, and scenarios,” stated Microsoft.
