Twitter Blue rolled out for web and Android users

On Wednesday, Twitter Inc revealed it will be pricing the monthly subscription for Twitter Blue at $11 per month for Android users. Similarly, the subscription price for iOS users will also be $11 per month. However, the platform is also offering a cheaper annual plan for web users. When compared to the monthly charges which add up to a total of $132 per year, the web annual plan is priced at $84.

The monthly web-only plan for the subscription is priced at $8. However, the annual plan is only available for web users and offers just a $1 discount. “The discount for web users would be available in countries including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia,” revealed the platform.

More on the Twitter Blue subscription

Before Musk’s takeover, the blue check mark was a symbol of the authenticity of an account. It was also only associated with public personalities, organizations, brands, and services. Additionally, it was available for free for politicians, public figures, famous personalities, and journalists. However, with the monthly subscription anyone prepared to pay the fee can sport a checkmark next to their names.

Twitter Blue was first rolled out in 2022 aiming to help the platform generate revenue as Elon Musk was fighting to keep advertisers. It comes with additional features such as 60-minute video uploads, priority ranking in replies, and a thread reader. Additionally, users also can customize the theme and edit their tweets.
