More on the Twitter Blue subscription
Before Musk’s takeover, the blue check mark was a symbol of the authenticity of an account. It was also only associated with public personalities, organizations, brands, and services. Additionally, it was available for free for politicians, public figures, famous personalities, and journalists. However, with the monthly subscription anyone prepared to pay the fee can sport a checkmark next to their names.
Twitter Blue was first rolled out in 2022 aiming to help the platform generate revenue as Elon Musk was fighting to keep advertisers. It comes with additional features such as 60-minute video uploads, priority ranking in replies, and a thread reader. Additionally, users also can customize the theme and edit their tweets.
