Microsoft office 365 bundle software price to rise by 20%


Microsoft on Thursday said that it will increase prices for bundle packs of the Microsoft office 365 by as much as 20 percent. Read to know how this will affect you.

What is Microsoft office 365?

Microsoft office 365 is a subscription service for Microsoft Office that provides you with a large range of applications and software. It includes the full version of Word, Excel, OneNote, and PowerPoint. In addition to the classic MS applications. You can also avail OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook services. The suite is the firm’s foundation for productivity and business segment with sales worth $53.9 billion last year.

The price increase on the applications has not increased in the last ten years, since its introduction. Moreover, the company has added a total of 12 new apps since then. “This updated pricing reflects the increased value we have delivered to our customers over the past ten years,” said Jared Spataro. Spataro is the corporate vice president for Microsoft 365. Moreover, Microsoft’s shares hit a new high of 1.8 percent at $295.96.

Hence, at the low end of the subscription, the plans will see a 20 percent rise from $5 to $6. And, the complete version will have a smaller rise of 12.5 percent. This makes the cost per user $36 from the initial $32. However, Microsoft said that the price rise will apply globally with local market adjustments for some regions. Additionally, the firm assured that the pricing for consumer and education versions will remain the same.
