Meta announces paid blue verification tick on Facebook and Instagram: All the details

Blue ticks have come to represent status in society. In order to allow users to become verified on both Instagram and Facebook, meta has developed its own verification system dubbed “Meta Verified” in the same manner as Twitter. Users will be able to use the model to verify their identities with Meta; after doing so, a blue checkmark will appear next to their names, giving them access to the hype they want.

The membership, which costs $11.99 a month online will provide extra security layers

The membership, which costs $11.99 a month online versus $14.99 for iPhones and Android phones, will provide extra security layers that will shield creators from impersonation and defend their right to privacy.

With the greater customer base in India in mind, Meta set the price for this model. It has made an effort to maintain an equilibrium between the $11 monthly cost of the recently released Twitter blue and the premium pricing of Netflix. Each user can get confirmed with an official identity thanks to Meta’s rather straightforward verification process.

“Meta Verified Badge” will give access to numerous exclusive features including increased visibility

They will receive a “Meta Verified Badge,” giving them access to numerous exclusive features including increased visibility and reach on the platform and exclusive access to customer care. Yet, there won’t be any restrictions on advertisements. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of meta, has followed Twitter’s example. The corporation only confirmed the existence of this new function after a reverse engineer noticed a similar code embedded in it.

A similar service was previously introduced by Twitter in November 2022, but it failed due to abuse of impersonating brands and celebrities. Nonetheless, Meta has made sure that this level of security is maintained by maintaining an age restriction of 18 as a requirement for verification; a government ID, profile photo, and name are all necessary. Not only that, either. This solution will put in place a proactive monitoring mechanism to guarantee the platform’s complete security.

In an effort to “empower creators to be more productive and creative,” Mark Zuckerberg planned to introduce a number of other brand-new goods. The program will be launched in Australia and New Zealand first, with more nations later adopting the subscription model.
