It’s on the agenda: Musk now wants to change Twitter’s word limit

Elon Musk makes a suggestion on Twitter’s future. It might have a character limit that is higher than 280. Musk answered when a user urged him to expand the word limit: “It’s on the to-do list.”

Let’s go!,” a media outlet’s tweet from RAWSALERTS sparked a discussion about word limits. Instead of the tiresome 280 characters, Twitter 2.0 should increase the character limit to 420. Good concept, said Musk in response.

However, later, a user by the name of John Kraus, a spaceflight photographer, requested an increase in the word limit to 1000. “Char. the limit should be 1000, but only show the first 280 on the timeline with a “… (show more)” to indicate tweet is longer,” wrote Kraus in a tweet. Expand the whole tweet when pressed. When browsed to the very end, it neatly returns to the timeline.

A month has passed since Musk sealed the transaction and assumed control of the microblogging platform. He has now implemented some astounding improvements within the company and has more plans, which he refers to as “Twitter 2.0.”

In addition to the character restriction, the app’s owner said that it is encrypting voice and video conversations as well as DMs due to privacy concerns. He said, “It should be the situation that I can’t peek at anyone’s DMs if someone has put a gun to my head,” to the staff during his meeting on Monday of last week.

Musk showed several slides from his meeting with the staff

Additionally, he showed several slides from his meeting with staff in San Francisco, where he announced that “We’re hiring” on one of the slides. They targeted hate speech and new users, as evidenced by other slides. Musk stated on Twitter on Sunday that he believed Twitter would surpass one billion users in the next 12 to 18 months.

Elon Musk said on Saturday (Nov. 26) that if Apple and Google decide to remove the Twitter app from their app stores, he may release his own smartphone. This follows reports that there are problems with the iOS and Android app stores for the microblogging platform.

Everything began when podcaster Liz Wheeler suggested, “Elon Musk should create his own smartphone if Apple and Google remove Twitter from their app stores. The prejudiced, snooping iPhone & Android would be cheerfully abandoned by half of the country. A dumb little smartphone ought to be simple for the man who makes rockets to Mars, right?”

Musk replied, “I certainly hope it does not come to that, but, yes, if there is no other choice, I will make an alternative phone.” Musk made significant reforms to his promise following his takeover. He’s been somewhat successful in achieving this.
