Twitter recently initiated ‘Super Follows’ a feature that allows content creators to provide exclusive content for a fixed fee. The feature is similar to YouTube’s premium membership feature. Instagram is following the trend and planning to roll out ‘Exclusive Stories’. However, this is not the first time Instagram is competing with other platforms. The platform launched ‘Reels’, a short video format, similar to TikTok.

The former photo-sharing platform also confirmed that this new feature is under development. Additionally, developer Alessandro Paluzzi shared exclusive screenshots of the latest feature. “#Instagram keeps working on exclusive stories When a user has a fan club, the subscribe button will appear in their profile,” tweeted Paluzzi.

What to expect from this new Instagram feature?

The screenshots and rumors show that these exclusive stories are just for members. However, regular followers will get notifications about its existence. The new feature will also be marked with a purple heart icon, similar to Instagram stickers and close friend features. In addition to this, the social media giant may also prevent users from taking screenshots. This way they can ensure that the content stays exclusive.
