Three former SpaceX engineers created a pizza-making robot,Stellar Pizza, that can produce a pizza in just 45 seconds. The machine will begin operations in 2022. Here’s all bout the miraculous robot restaurant.
Stellar Pizza: The next-gen concept kitchen
Stellar Pizza is a robot restaurant and the brainchild of three former SpaceX engineers. The robotic restaurant makes a pizza every 45 seconds and will be opening in Los Angeles around Spring 2022. The founders of the restaurant are Benson Tsai, James Whahwisan, and Brian Langone. Tsai, the CEO of the pizza company worked for Elon Musk’s SpaceX, designing advanced battery systems used for satellites and rockets. Rocket scientists are trying to solve food delivery challenges and applying their expertise in creating a fully automated ghost kitchen.
Stellar Pizza’s CEO rounded over 23 former SpaceX employees for building the fully-automated and touchless pizza-making machine. Ted Ciza, a former SpaceX executive chef is one of the employees. According to Cizma’s LinkedIn profile, he formed SpaceX’s staff food service program. He teamed up with Noel Brohner, a pizza consultant to make affordable and high-quality pizzas for the robot restaurant. The robotic contraption fits in the back of a truck. What sets Stellar Pizza apart from other robotic restaurants is that their machines can make, bake, and top pizzas in under five minutes.
Here’s how the robot restaurant works
First, a ball of homemade pizza dough goes into the machine where is it pressed and molded into the iconic round shape. Once it is ready, the robot tops the dough with pizza sauce and other toppings. The raw pizza then goes into a high-temperature oven. The robotic restaurant has four such ovens. The pizza with its homestyle dough, classic sauce, and grande East coast Mozzarella is a classic!
Stellar Pizza offers classic pepperoni or supreme pizza. However, customers can customize their pizzas with fresh toppings like bacon, onion, olives, and chicken. The next-generation kitchen is capable of making over 100 pizzas in an hour as per a Forbes report.
