Facebook has many secrets. One of them is a detailed list of thousands of terrorist organizations, hate groups, and criminals. Read to know all about Facebook’s secret list.
What is Facebook’s secret list all about?
According to a new report, Facebook has a list of several individuals and organizations that belong to terrorism, militarised social movements, hate organizations, militant groups, and non-state actors. However, this is nothing new. Reportedly, the social media giant started making it in 2012 after receiving backlash from the UN and the US government over online recruitment. Supposedly, it started the list as a good community practice to keep violence and hate away from the platform.
More on making the Internet safer
Facebook plans to make the internet safe by keeping tabs on several problems causing organizations. They have a list of non-state actors from Africa, North America, and the Middle East. Additionally, the report by The Intercept shows how the online platform has recognized even little-known terror organizations on Facebook. Moreover, it includes groups from Russia, Asia, Turkey, Europe, Middle East, Pakistan, and North America.
They also have details about criminal organizations in Mexico, Brazil, the US, Columbia, and Europe. Moreover, Facebook’s secret list also targets associations like Hamas, LeT, Haqqani network, Al Queda, JeM, and several more.
