Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced on Tuesday (November 1) that a Twitter Blue subscription will cost $8 per month and blasted the “current lords & peasants system” for determining who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark.
Musk mentioned that the price has been adjusted by country proportionate to purchasing power parity.
A blue tick will now come with many additional benefits and premium features
According to Musk, The user will also receive precedence in replies, mentions, and searches, along with the ability to post longer videos and audio, as well as a lesser amount of adverts.
In June of last year, Twitter Blue, the platform’s first subscription service that provided exclusive access to premium features including the ability to edit tweets, was introduced.
Subscribers had access to some publishers’ articles without being interrupted by adverts through the service. Last month, the social media site made an edit option available to premium subscribers in the US.

Following a month of controversy, Musk recently bought the social networking firm for $44 billion.
