After months of promising his own social media network for banned posters, former President Donald Trump on Tuesday launched a new section of his website. Trump’s social media platform is a standard-issue blog – From the Desk of Donald J. Trump. But in reality, it is actually a WordPress blog on his own site.
Trump’s social media platform is quite similar to a Twitter profile. It facilitates as a running online blog of Twitter-length commentary from Trump. Individuals can sign up for post alerts on this site through their email and phone numbers. They are supposedly ready to like the posts, albeit the function doesn’t appear to work as of now.
Users can also share Trump’s posts on Facebook and Twitter. Twitter sharing option doesn’t work at present, yet Facebook permits individuals to share Trump’s posts.
Generally, sharing content from the website reference is permitted as long as the material does not otherwise the Twitter Rules,” a Twitter spokesperson said
Even though the platform formally launched on Tuesday, there are posts dating back to March 24th. The most recent post is a video promoting his new platform, calling it “a place to speak freely and safely, directly from the desk of Donald J. Trump.”
Campaign Nucleus, a digital services company founded by Trump’s former campaign manager Brad Parscale has built this platform.
Facebook and Twitter banned Trump after a right-wing mob stormed the US Capitol leaving five individuals dead. Facebook’s quasi-judicial moderation panel intends to report whether the former president can return on Wednesday morning.
