Instahack: Check your Instagram DMs without being seen

Have you ever wanted to check your Instagram DMs without being seen? Well, there are two easy ways to go about it. Read on to find out more!

We’re pretty sure you interact with a lot of people over your Instagram DMs. And there are more than a few occasions where you don’t want the messages to be read or seen. If you’ve questioned if there’s a way around it, we’re here to save you.

WhatsApp has options under the privacy settings to turn off your read receipts. The absence of those blue ticks can be very helpful. This lets you read your messages without the other person getting to know that you have. However, Instagram, a Facebook-owned company does not have the same feature.

How to turn off your read receipts on Instagram?

Out of the two ways to read your messages without being seen, one is temporary and another is a permanent solution to the issue. You can choose your way out depending on why you don’t want to be seen reading your DMs.

The temporary solution for reading DMs without the sender’s knowledge:

First, open the Instagram app on your phone and go to your DM tab to load your DMs. Now, quickly turn off your WiFi and mobile data. Once your internet is turned off, check your DMs.

This way, your DMs won’t be shown as “seen” since your internet is turned off. However, the catch to this Instahack is that your DMs will be marked as “seen” once your internet is turned on.

The sure-shot method to read DMs without the sender’s knowledge:

This might not be easy as the earlier method. As soon as you get a DM from someone you don’t wish to be “seen” by, go to the person’s profile. Make sure that you don’t accidentally open their DMs during this. Restrict their account by clicking on the three dots on the top right. Their DMs will now be on the message request feature. here you can see messages without the sender’s knowledge.

Restricting an account limits interactions from that user without blocking or unfollowing. You will no longer get updates unless you “accept message” or remove account restriction.
