What is Amazon Inspire?

Amazon just introduced ‘Inspire’ its new service that offers users a TikTok-like shopping experience. The new feature allows them to explore ideas and products and buy products from the photo and short video feed. The shopping giant is adopting popular social media formats for engaging customers and encouraging purchases. The service is intended to divert the customer’s attention from shopping on social media platforms that are entering the e-commerce arena.

To use Amazon Inspire, open the Amazon mobile application and tap on the lightbulb icon on the main navigation. After choosing interests, the app generates a tailored feed where purchases can be made. The service offers interest choices from over 20 interests including skin care, gaming, travel, home decor, makeup, and sports.

More on the new shopping format

Amazon Inspire offers both photos and short-format videos. The vertical video geed allows users to swipe up and see the next clip, featuring another product. They can also ‘double-tap’ to like the content. “Inspire is our new shopping experience that connects Amazon customers with shoppable content created by other customers, influencers, and brands,” stated Oliver Messenger. Messenger is the director of Amazon Shopping and homes the service will simplify online shopping.

“In just a few taps, customers can discover new products or get inspiration on what to buy, all tailored to their interests, and then shop for items,” he added. The e-commerce giant is hoping for its new service to offer a personalized shopping experience. It will also be adding more content, shoppable features, and in-app functions to enhance the user experience.
