Apple Unveils ChatGPT Integration
At the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in Cupertino, Apple announced the integration of OpenAI’s ChatGPT into its first-party apps and features.
Enhancing Siri with ChatGPT
Siri will now leverage ChatGPT to provide more advanced responses. For example, users can ask Siri for recipe suggestions based on ingredients they have, and Siri will consult ChatGPT for detailed answers.
System-wide integration
ChatGPT is also integrated into Apple’s system-wide writing tools, such as Compose, allowing users to generate content, including images. Users can request initial ideas and send them to ChatGPT for revisions or variations. The chatbot will also answer questions related to documents or PDFs, enhancing its utility across various tasks.
Availability and accessibility
The ChatGPT integration will be available on iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS later this year. Users can access these features without creating a ChatGPT or OpenAI account. However, OpenAI’s premium subscribers will gain additional features within Siri and other ChatGPT-integrated Apple apps.
