AirPods 3rd Generation is here! The ‘Unleash’ event on Monday revealed the successor for AirPods 2. Here’s everything you need to know before you upgrade your Apple device.
AirPods 3rd Generation: New updates
The brand new AirPods 3rd Generation comes with sweat and water-resistance features. Additionally, the Airpods have spatial audio and adaptive EQ similar to the Apple AirPods Pro. However, unlike the second generation, the new AirPods have several new looks and hallmarks. The AirPods now include a skin-detect sensor. Apple claims that this will help in accurately discerning if you are using them or if it is on a table or your pocket. AirPods will use this technology to pauce playback. The new generation AirPods have better and more improved ergonomics and grip. Despite the shorter stem, they fit better than ever!
Additionally, the next-generation AirPods come with a wireless charging case that maintains Apple’s MagSafe. Apple’s new emphasis on Dolby Atmos music and spatial audio make the AirPods truly superior. Similar to the AirPods Max and pro series, the 3rd generation of AirPods offers head-tracking. It “features AAC-ELD, a superior speech codec that offers full HD voice quality, providing clear, natural communication for FaceTime calls,” stated Apple. The tech giant also claims that it can now deliver up to four hours of talk time and six hours of listening time. Moreover, just five minutes of charging can give you an hour of battery life. Additionally, users can get up to 30 hours of listening time with four charges in the case.
AirPods 3rd Generation: Price
The new earbuds will be available for sale in over 26 countries from October 26. They are priced at $179. While the previous generation of AirPods is not discontinued, they will be sold at $129. Additionally, Apple also released the Apple Music Voice service with a new HomePod mini. The HomePod mini comes in yellow, blue, and orange. Starting November, the new device will be up for grabs both online and in retail stores.
The tech giant’s new subscription-based ‘Apple Music Voice’ will now be available at $4.99 per month. The music service is targeted for users to access Apple Music with Siri. However, it is initially only released in 17 countries.
