The inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL 2023) will go down in history at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on March 4 (Saturday). A standalone T20 franchise-based competition for women along the lines of the hugely successful Indian Premier League has finally come true for BCCI after years of waiting and preparation. Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Delhi Capitals (DC), UPwarriors (WPW), and Gujarat Giants(GG) are the five teams competing in the inaugural WPL season .

Even before the first ball is bowled in India’s debut Women’s Premier League (WPL) cricket match on Saturday, hundreds of millions of rupees have been raised, with experts describing it as a turning point for women’s sport. Top athletes from all over the world are expected to compete in the five-team Women’s Premier League, which kicks off on March 4 and runs through March 26 at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. The Women’s Premier League will host a total of 20 regular games and two playoff games in its inaugural season, all of which will last 23 days.
