Enzo Fernandez won the FIFA Young Player of the Tournament title following multiple starring roles in Argentina’s midfield, including a fantastic performance in the final. The Benfica star made his debut against Poland in Argentina’s last group game.
Meanwhile, Emiliano Martinez won the Golden Glove trophy, given to the tournament’s finest goalkeeper, after Argentina won on penalties twice. In his country’s quarter-final win over the Netherlands, the Aston Villa goalkeeper saved two penalty kicks before denying Coman in the final.
Mbappe won Golden Boot and Messi won Golden Ball
The final two prizes, the Golden Boot for the tournament’s top scorer and the Golden Ball for the tournament’s finest player, appeared to be determined by Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi. Mbappe won the golden boot with eight goals after scoring a hat-trick in the final.
Leonel Messi on the other hand, will leave Qatar with two medals after earning the Golden Ball, which recognizes him as the most outstanding player at the 2022 World Cup.
