Celebrity couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma announced on Tuesday that they have a baby boy named Akaay. Kohli and Anushka revealed that their baby boy was born on February 15. “With abundant happiness and hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on February 15th, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay, Vamika’s younger brother, into the world! We ask for your blessings and best wishes during this wonderful time in our lives. We respectfully request that you respect our privacy at this time. Love and gratitude. “Virat and Anushka,” the couple wrote on social media.
What is the meaning of Akaay?
Following the announcement, there has been a lot of interest in the unique and special name, Akaay. It is derived from the Hindi word ‘kaya’, meaning ‘body’. Akaay refers to someone more than their physical body. In Turkish, ‘Akaay’ means ‘ shining moon’.
The couple has yet to confirm the origin of the word they considered before naming the boy.
The baby boy is already very popular on social media. Virat Kohli’s Instagram post garnered over five million likes in just over an hour.
Following the announcement of the news, fans and members of the film and cricket industries flooded the comments section with well wishes. Ranveer Singh, an actor, commented with a string of ‘evil eye’ and heart emojis. “God bless,” actor Rakul Preet Singh wrote.
Virat and Anushka married on December 11, 2017, in Italy. On January 11, 2021, the couple became parents to Vamika. The couple kept quiet about their second pregnancy.
However, former South African captain AB de Villiers revealed on his official YouTube channel that Kohli and Anushka were expecting their second child.
The former Proteas captain apologized to Kohli, admitting he made a “blunder” in his previous video.
“My friend Virat Kohli is still not available. I cry out to everyone to give him the privacy that he deserves. Family comes first. No one knows what exactly is going on. I am asking all of us to respect that. I made a blunder in my previous show and I apologize to the Kohli family for that,” ABD said on his YouTube channel.
Kohli opted out of India’s ongoing five-match series against England earlier, citing personal reasons.
