Princess of Wales Makes Second Public Appearance Since Cancer Diagnosis
The Princess of Wales received a standing ovation at Centre Court during the Wimbledon men’s singles final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. Accompanied by her daughter, Princess Charlotte, this marks her second public appearance following her cancer diagnosis and subsequent abdominal surgery earlier this year.
Patron of the All-England Club
As the patron of the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Princess Catherine is slated to present the singles trophy to the winner of this year’s final. The match features a head-to-head between last year’s champion Alcaraz and seven-time Wimbledon winner Djokovic. Prior to taking their seats, Catherine and Charlotte met with several British tennis players, including Emma Raducanu.
Return to public duties
In June, the princess made her first public appearance since her diagnosis at Trooping the Colour, where she was seen waving and smiling from the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside her children. Addressing her health, Catherine stated that she is making “good progress” but acknowledged she is “not out of the woods yet.” She revealed that her treatment will continue for several more months and mentioned she has “good days and bad days.”
Prince of Wales in Berlin
While Catherine enjoys the Wimbledon final, the Prince of Wales is in Berlin, preparing to support England in the Euro 2024 final against Spain.
