I was disappointed that I haven’t done much for my team: Virat Kohli
What makes the innings, as well as the milestone more special, is the timing. Kohli has been struggling with a series of low scores with only one half-century this year before this knock. Praising the former Indian captain, Harbhajan Singh said, “he (Kohli) got off to a great start, and his intent was clear from the first ball, as evidenced by his racing between the wickets. It was fantastic to see him score runs again, and we expect that if RCB proceeds, he will be their most important player. He’s found his form now, and when he does, no one will be a bigger player than him.”
Virat’s 73 runs off 53 balls with eight 4s and two 6s helped the team win the must-win game. Kohli and Faf scored 115 runs for the opening partnership. Maxwell’s cameo finished the game for RCB in style. After winning man of the match for his brilliant knock, Kohli said, ” I was disappointed that I haven’t done much for my team and that bothers me, not the stats. This was a game where I was able to create an impact and that puts us in a good position.” The Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Lucknow Super Giants in the playoff on 25th May 2022.
