Royal Challengers Banglore(RCB) skipper Virat Kohli became the first Indian batsman to complete 10,000 runs in T20 cricket on Sunday (September 26). He completed his 10,000 runs in the shortest format against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Dubai International Stadium. The 32-year-old reached the 10,000 mark as he pulled Mumbai Indians’ Japrit Bumrah for a six in the fourth over of the match.
Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer in T20 Internationals
1. Virat Kohli became the fifth player to reach the 10,000 mark after Chris Gayle (14,275), Kieron Pollard (11,202), Shoaib Malik (10,832), and David Warner (10,019).
2. He is the second-fastest to this milestone (299 innings) after Chris Gayle (285 innings).
3. Kohli was also the first Indian batsman to complete 6,000 runs in the Indian Premier League.
4. Kohli now has 10038 runs in T20 cricket and has surpassed Australia’s David Warner (10019) to move to the fourth spot on the list of highest scorers in T20 cricket.
5. He is currently the all-time leading run-getter in the history of IPL with 6185 runs from 202 matches at a brilliant average of over 37.
6. He also holds the record for scoring the most runs and hundreds in a single season (IPL 2016).
7. Kohli now has 10,038 runs from 314 T20s at an astonishing average of 41.65 with a strike rate of 133.85. He also has 5 hundred and 74 fifties by his name in this format.
