All about Tom Brady and his spectacular NFL career

From being the almost forgotten sixth-round NFL draft pick-up to being the greatest quarterback and NFL player, Tom Brady’s career is remarkable. Despite its ups and downs, his career came to an end on Wednesday after his announcement. It may seem like a deja vu as Brady initially announced retiring in February 2022. However, he revised his decision and decided to play for another season with the TampaBat Buccanneers.

“I’m retiring for good. I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning, I figured I’d just press record and let you guys know first,” he said in his video on Twitter. “It won’t be long-winded. You only get one super-emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year,” he added. Over the course of his 23-year-long career. he won seven super bowl rings, six with the New England Patriots and the last one with the Buccanneers. This is more than any other individual NFL franchise.

Hurdles in the legend’s journey

Brady’s story began with sheer drive and determination. He was born in California and grew up as a San Francisco 49ers fan, regularly attending games at Candlestick park. Moreover, as a four-year-old, he was in attendance of Joe Montana and threw “The Catch” to Dwight Clark in the 1981 NFC Championship Game. “The Catch” is one of the most historic and memorable NFL moments. After struggling for a bit, he finally became a starring quarterback and made records for most pass attempts and completions. However, his name was not among the ones selected during the picks.

His name was finally called in the sixth round by the New England Patriots’ compensatory pick. While it was not easy after getting into the NFL, it was just another hurdle in the “comeback kid’s” life. “Not that it’s easy to work, not that’s easy to show up every day and do the job. But you’re focused. You know, you’ve got a goal, you got something you’re trying to accomplish. And when that’s done. You don’t have 80,000 people screaming your name,” he stated in his hour-long interview with Steve Kroft. “What’s it gonna be? I mean, I don’t know, I’ve heard a lot about astronauts who go to the moon. And come back and they’re so depressed because there’s nothing they can do in their lives. Nothing that ever can fill in the way that that does,” he added.
