Tim Paine's brother-in-law got sacked from Cricket Tasmania in 2018 over 'sexting' probe with same woman: Reports

Shannon Tubb was reportedly forced out of Cricket Tasmania amid another infamous ‘sexting’ scandal involving the same woman that Paine was involved with. Tubb, who’s a former Tasmanian Shield cricketer held a coaching role in the club. However, it was reported that he left the position in 2018 following a sexting probe involving the same woman that Paine was involved with.

As per the report in Herald Sun, Shannon Tubb was allegedly involved with the same woman in a similar incident. Tubb is married to Paine’s sister and played Sheffield Shield for Tasmania. He was asked to leave Cricket Tasmania (CT) after a sexting investigation involving the same woman that Paine was involved with.

The report also states that Tubb left his coaching position after investigations into the messages. The woman claimed that Tubb sent her X-rated messages and also sent an unsolicited image of his genitalia to her. The publication contacted both Tubb and Cricket Tasmania over the sexting scandal. While Shannon Tubb stated that there is no comment from him, Cricket Tasmania refused to respond to any questions.

‘I’m sorry for any damage’: Tim Paine

Earlier, Tim Paine quit Australia’s Test captaincy over the ongoing investigation by Cricket Australia in relation to a sexting scandal. Paine is being investigated over sending an explicit image of his to a co-worker along with a set of lewd messages. He took over as the Australian Test skipper after Smith got involved in the ball-tampering scandal during the Cape Town Test against South Africa. He has made himself available for selection in the Ashes despite having resigned as captain of the team.

“Today I’ve announced my decision to stand down as the captain of the Australian men’s test team. It’s an incredibly difficult decision, but the right one for me, my family, and cricket. As background on my decision, nearly four years ago, I was involved in a text exchange with a then-colleague. At the time, the exchange was the subject of a thorough CA Integrity Unit investigation, which I fully participated in. And openly participated in.” Paine said in a statement
