American teenage sensation Erriyon Knighton has broken Usain Bolt‘s record for the second time in less than one month. And has awestruck the whole athletics world with his unbelievable performance.

Erriyon Knighton beat Usain Bolt and World Champion Noah Lyles’ record

The 17-year-old recently broke Bolt’s World U18 record of 20.13. Erriyon finished the race in 20.11 and create a world record. The eight-time Olympics gold Medalist set this U-20 record all the way back in 2003 and no one has come close to it since then.

Earlier this month, In the first round, Knighton beat the world champion, Noah Lyles, who finished with the leading time in the opening round of 20.04 seconds.

“That was my first time racing against him. I’ve watched tons of his races. I love to see it. It reminds me of myself coming out here in 2016. I want to see people taking that path and other paths.” said Lyles.

Erriyon went even faster in the semi-finals of the 200m sprint at the US Olympic trials. He broke Usain Bolt’s 17-year-old U20 200m world record at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. He clocked 19.88 seconds, shattering Bolt’s record of 19.93 which was set in 2004.

“Did what I had to do. I shut it down the last 20 meters, as you can see,” Knighton said.

If he somehow qualified for Tokyo, Knighton would be the youngest male to make the US track and field team since 1964. And if he continues the same form in Tokyo Olympics, then the gold is not far away from him.
