Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero could be forced to retire from football altogether following a negative result on his heart examination, according to Catalunya Radio. Earlier, he was brought off 42 minutes in a game with Alaves after chest complaints and was taken to the hospital for cardiological evaluation.
According to Catalunya Radio, Sergio Aguero could consider retiring from football after the diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmia is believed to be more complex than anticipated. The above-mentioned source stated that Aguero’s current condition cannot go down well with playing competitive sports. However, the decision will be taken based on the evaluation of his condition over the next few months.
Barcelona issued a statement following the incident that read: “The player Kun Agüero has undergone a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure by Dr. Josep Brugada. He is out and for the next three months. The effectiveness of the treatment will be evaluated to determine his recovery process.”
Aguero said after he was taken to hospital: “I am well and in good spirits to face the recovery process. I want to thank you all for so many messages of support and love that make my heart stronger today.”
I wish him (Sergio Aguero) the best recovery and he can come back to play again: Pep Guardiola
Sergio Aguero joined Barcelona on a free transfer earlier this summer from Premier League champions Manchester City. He made his debut for the Spanish side against Dynamo Kyiv. On his second appearance for the club, Sergio scored his debut goal against Real Madrid.
His former manager, Pep Guardiola, wished him all the best, saying: “I spoke with his agent. Difficult news for him and his family,” Guardiola told reporters. We wish him a safe recovery, doesn’t matter the time. Health is most important than anything else. He’s in good hands, he will take care of himself. I wish him the best recovery and he can come back to play again. Otherwise, he enjoys his life and enjoys what he has done.”
