Ronaldo denies joining Al Nassr FC

Christiano Ronaldo denied the news of him joining Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr after the FIFA World Cup. “No, that’s not true — not true,” stated the star after Portugal’s 6-1 win against Switzerland. Reports linking Ronaldo and the Saudi FC came after the termination of his contract by Manchester United following his explosive interview.

In his interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo criticized the club’s owner and Erik ten Hag, the manager. Manchester United announced that they parted from the player as it was “the right time to seek a new challenge”. Ronaldo played for United between 2003 and 2009 and then returned in 2021. He was critical in winning the Champions League, three Premier League titles, and two League Cups for the club.

The 37-year-old football star is currently a free agent and his club-level availability is drawing attention across the globe. Earlier, Morgan also denied that the Portugal captain would move to Al Nassr as he wants to continue playing in the Champions League. “He thinks that if he does well at this World Cup, he’ll get what he really wants. Which is a club in the Champions League that extends his record and his legacy,” stated Morgan in an interview with The Telegraph. “It’s not about money at this stage of his career. It comes down to a burning desire to play football at the highest level, to break records and win trophies. And he has done that in more countries than any other player in history,” he added.
