Rohit Sharma

Mumbai Indians’ skipper and power hitter Rohit Sharma has had a quiet IPL for a couple of years now. Rohit has now gone 15 innings without hitting a half-century and unfortunately, the purple patch seems to be never-ending. Amid the team failing to perform well and his own worrisome form, Rohit Sharma has created an unwanted record – The most ducks in IPL.

During the match against CSK, Rohit gifted his wicket to Mukesh Choudhary at the second ball of the innings. Rohit was out for a two-ball duck after mistiming a flick and giving a sitter to Mitchell Santner at mid-on. As a result, he ended up with an unpleasant record. Mukesh ended his spell with 3 wickets in 3 overs by giving 19 runs. Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Mumbai Indians, currently has the most ducks (14) in the history of the league. Before being dismissed in this innings, he was at par with Piyush Chawla and Harbhajan Singh.

Rohit Sharma becomes the first captain to lose 7 in 7 games in IPL

Sharma, now, tops the list with 14 ducks. The others in the list include:

MI fell to 23 for 3 and 47 for 4 after Rohit’s removal, thanks to Mukesh’s opening spell. Mumbai registered a modest 155-7 in 20 overs owing to Tilak Verma’s calm and composed innings of 51 not out. Tilak was helped by certain cameos from Suryakumar Yadav, Kieron Pollard, and Jaydev Unadkat. CSK too had a rocky start, losing quick wickets at the start. The game went to the wire with the results in the favor of CSK. Mumbai Indians also registered their 7th consecutive loss, making them the first team to do so.
