Paris 2024 organizers on Friday revealed an Olympic rings display on the Eiffel Tower, marking 50 days until the Summer Olympics in the French capital. The 29-by-13-metre structure, made of recycled steel, was placed on the south side of Paris’ iconic landmark by about 30 workers using four cranes.
The Eiffel Tower will play a central role in the Olympics, hosting beach volleyball competitions at its base. Additionally, pieces of steel from the Eiffel Tower have been incorporated into the Paris 2024 medals.
The Paris Olympics are scheduled to run from July 26 to August 11.
