Wimbledon 2022 comes to an end with Novak Djokovic defeating Nick Kyrgios to win his 7th Wimbledon title. The Serbian great was one set down but ended up dominating Nick, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6. Now, with 21 Grand Slam titles, he is only one title behind Rafael Nadal who has 22 Grand Slam titles to his name.
Only Federer, who has a record eight victories in the grass-court Slam, is ahead of him. Djokovic, nevertheless, has won Wimbledon for a record fourth time in succession. Along with having won the competition in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022. He also won in 2011, 2014, and 2015.

“I am lost words for what this tournament and this trophy means to me. It always has been and will be the most special one in my heart,” Djokovic said. After losing the initial set in the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final, Djokovic became the first player in the Open Era to win Wimbledon. In the quarterfinal match against Jannik Sinner and the semifinal match against Cameron Norrie, Djokovic overcame deficits.
