Elon Musk is taking the notion of facing off against Mark Zuckerberg in a cage battle very seriously. In a July 3 tweet, Canadian wrestler and UFC fighter Georges St-Pierre stated he had a “great training session” with Musk, podcaster Lex Fridman, and martial artist John Danaher. St-Pierre shared a snapshot of the men in exercise gear but did not say when or where the session took place.
“Really fun! The obvious conclusion is that I need a lot more training,” Musk tweeted about the session.
Enlisting expert instructors such as St-Pierre and Danaher is a significant step forward for Musk, who previously stated that he hardly never works out. Musk’s prospective fight with Zuckerberg resulted from a weird chain of events. On June 20, Musk quipped that he would be “up for a cage match” with the jiu-jitsu-loving Zuckerberg to resolve their beef in the ring, despite being informed by a Twitter user that the Meta founder has been looking fit lately.

Then, on June 21, Zuckerberg responded to Musk’s challenge with three words on Instagram: “Send Me Location.” Since then, Musk has made countless jokes about his own chances in the ring. On June 21, he tweeted that he has one “great move” called “The Walrus.” Musk’s move would consist of him merely flopping over his opponent and doing nothing else.
Aside from training with St-Pierre and Danaher, Musk also had an “impromptu training session” with Fridman, according to the podcaster’s June 27 tweet. Fridman’s post contained photos of Musk on a mat doing takedown maneuvers. Musk’s martial arts skills will almost certainly come in handy, given that Zuckerberg has won awards for competing in jiu-jitsu contests.
It is unknown when this billionaire cage battle would take place, though Musk has suggested the “Vegas Octagon,” one of the UFC’s top fight venues, and Rome’s ancient Colosseum as potential locations. Outside of regular business hours, a spokesman for Georges St-Pierre did not immediately reply to BreezyScroll’s request for comment. Musk’s Twitter representatives responded to a request for comment with an automated response that didn’t address the questions asked.
