Lord’s is one of the most iconic grounds in cricket. Every cricketer’s dream is to score a hundred on this historic ground. Lord’s has a unique tradition of honouring exceptional performances by etching players names on honours boards. This special honour is given to a batsman who achieves a century or a bowler who gets five wickets in an innings or ten wickets in a match. To date, as many as ten Indian players have managed to score a century at Lord’s. KL Rahul is the latest batsman who has registered his name on the honours board. 1) Vinoo Mankad
Former India all-rounder Vinoo Mankad was the first Indian to score a century at Lord’s. He scored a magnificent 184 against England in 1952.
2) Dilip Vengasarkar
Vengasarkar is the only Indian player to score three Test centuries at Lord’s. His first century came in 1979 when he scored 103 off 295 balls, the second one in 1982 when he scored 157 from 264 balls. And the third century came in 1986. Vengasarkar scored an unbeaten century (126 runs) and took India to a historic Test win at Lord’s.
3) Gundappa Vishwanath
The legendary batsman made a classy 113 off 337 balls in the same match as Dilip Vengsarkar during India’s 1979 tour to England.
4) Ravi Shastri
The current head coach of the Indian Cricket Team and former all-rounder scored a century during the 1990 tour of England.
5) Mohammed Azharuddin
The former Indian captain scored his maiden century at Lord’s Cricket Ground during India’s tour of England in 1990. He scored 121 runs off 111 balls, including 22 fours. Both Ravi Shastri and M Azharuddin scored a century in the same match.
6) Sourav Ganguly
The former Indian captain and current BCCI president scored a century on his debut tour to England. Playing his first Test against England at Lord’s Cricket Ground in 1996, Ganguly smashed 131 in the second innings. He hit 20 boundaries in this innings.
7) Ajit Agarkar
The former Indian bowling all-rounder played an unbeaten knock of 109 runs off 190 balls against England in 2002.
8) Rahul Dravid
Dravid scored 103 off 220 balls at the Lords during India’s 2011 tour of England. He scored more than 26 per cent of India’s runs in the series. And for his brilliant performance, Dravid was named India’s man of the series.
9) Ajinkya Rahane
Indian Test vice-captain scored a gritty hundred at Lord’s in 2014. He smashed 103 runs off 154 balls, including 15 fours and one six against England.
10) KL Rahul
Indian opener, KL Rahul is the latest Indian batter to score a Test hundred at the historic ground of Lord’s. He hit 129 runs off 250 balls including 12 fours and one six.
